MokumeGane

MokumeGane is a Japanese language derived from “Moku” (wood), Me (eyes) and Gane (metal) and its meaning is “wood grain metal” or “wood eye metal”. MokumeGane is the production of ornament’s technique by using 2 metal pieces and melting with heat and high pressure. Then, twist and pull the metal to create a colorful and beautiful pattern before forming the ornament’s body.

This technique is applied from the work of alumni of Srinakarinwirot University, later branded PONK SMiTHi.
